Vanity Fair Hosts An Oscars Party: No One Under Thirty Allowed

March 10, 2010 · 1 comment

Vanity Fair’s annual Oscars party is supposed to be a hot ticket, invite only. The table seating chart for this year’s soiree reveals a strange array of showbiz folk. Anna Paquin might have been the youngest person in the room, the only one under thirty. My advice, next year liven things up a bit. Vanity Fair just plastered the cover of their March 2010 issue with some of the top young actresses in Hollywood, including Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried and Carey Mulligan. Why not bring them in and make the party relevant again, not to mention reflective of the magazine.

As for this year’s gathering, there were legends at the affair (Kirk Douglas, Jane Fonda, Shirley MacLaine) and legends in the making (Hilary Swank, Jodie Foster). Funny men (Jerry Seinfeld, Don Rickles, Judd Apatow) and business men (Barry Diller, David Geffen, Ronald Perlman). Serious actors (Harvey Keitel, Patricia Clarkson) and funny actors (Leslie Mann, Catherine O’Hara).

But what I really want to know is who the heck Parky Devogelaere is seated at table #15. She gets my vote for best name of the evening. Well done, Parky!
