
Every year they remake at least a few movies from years past, trying to recapture some of that earlier magic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. When it does, the old story is brought back to life in a new and exciting way. Witness Sherlock Homes with Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law. But then there are failures, wooden remakes or copycat productions lacking fresh perspective or exciting new talent. We sit through the new, yearning for the old, thinking what were they thinking.
