The Movie Fraction Rating System™ employs a complex algorithm (AKA Jabcat’s brain) akin in complexity and brilliance to the Google search algorithm. Ratings are mathematically calibrated on a 1 to 10 scale. Fractions (e.g. 7¼) delineate rating differences with a precision heretofore unknown in the world of movie reviewing/rating. Movies rated 7 or above are recommended. The GO/NO advisor is a shorthand method of separating films rated 7 and above (GO) from those rated below 7, which are not recommended (NO). Quarter-point variations, i.e. 6¼, 6½ , 6¾ are used. Many films are ranked between 6 and 7¾. Any movie rated 8 or above is truly great, those below 6 suck the big one. No movie has ever rated 10 (is it possible to make a perfect movie?), or rated 1 (is it possible to make a movie so bad that no other movie could possibly be worse?).

Jabcat is smart! He lost me at “mathematically calibrated.”
